Community Impact Grant update
We are pausing our Community Impact Grant (CIG) program for FY25 — including our General, Teen, Young Adult, and Campus CIGs — while we review and reimagine the program. We will be in touch later this year to share our evolved approach that aims to make the grant process smoother and easier to access. In the interim, we are committed to maintaining an open-door entry point for projects and organizations that are new or new to CJP and will keep you updated. Please reach out to Annie Knickman Plancher or your relationship manager with any questions or ideas as we continue to adapt this important grant program.
2025 Greater Boston Jewish Community Study: organization lists due!
Reminder that your organization’s participant/membership lists are due to our 2025 Greater Boston Jewish Community Study research partner (Rosov Consulting) no later than Wednesday, July 17. These lists are an essential part of the success of the study, ensuring we have broad representation of Jews in Greater Boston so we can better understand — and respond to — the needs of our community. To learn more and securely submit your list to Rosov Consulting, visit their webpage. Note: Please do not send lists by email or to CJP.
For questions or assistance, please contact Eliza Greenberg, Community Study Manager at CJP, or Megan Brown, Project Associate at Rosov Consulting.
October 7, 2024: community convening event
CJP, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and the Israeli American Council are working together on a community convening event for October 7, 2024, in the early evening. Time, location, and additional details to follow this summer. This event will be open to our entire community and will be a chance to come together to remember, reflect, and hope, as we stand together with Israel. We will be in touch soon with participation, planning, and co-sponsorship opportunities. In addition, we are in the process of creating a JewishBoston.com page for events related to October 7 to which you are welcome to post. Please contact JulieSue Goldwasser with any questions.
CJP’s Communal Security Initiative (CSI) Meets the Moment
As the Jewish community is forced to contend with a challenging environment that includes increased antisemitic threats and incidents, CSI’s Vice President of Security and Operations, Jeremy Yamin, tells us about CSI’s efforts to offer more assistance to the over 100 partners in the Expanded Services Area of Worcester to Boston, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Recognizing the CSI program as a national leader, the Jewish Federation of North America and the Secure Community Network fully funded CSI to provide this support. This was all made possible through CJP’s Center for Combating Antisemitism and, in part, a grant from LiveSecure.

Program Staff Learning Network Meeting: Effective Board Engagement Techniques
Wednesday, July 10 | 10:00–11:30 a.m.
Virtual | Offered by Philanthropy MA
How do we ensure that we are presenting content that is compelling, clear, and concise that speaks to diverse boards? What do we see that has been effective or less effective? Who are our internal partners in preparing these communications? During this session we will have the opportunity to learn from peers in the philanthropic sector about ways to approach this challenge/opportunity.
Fundraising Friday: Making AI Work for Your Fundraising Journey
Friday, July 12 | 9:00–10:00 a.m.
Virtual | Offered by Philanthropy MA
Recent advances in AI technology promise to free us from time-consuming fundraising tasks like compiling reports, wordsmithing appeals, note taking, and crafting social media posts. However, these advances don't come without their drawbacks: fears of alienating donors, bias and privacy concerns overshadow the promises that AI tools hold. We will uncover how we can embrace the opportunities of AI without losing the human touch.
Virtual | Offered by BeWell, the Blue Dove Foundation, and Selah
This Community NARCAN Training is a hands-on opportunity to learn about how substance use affects the Jewish community (spoiler: much, much more than you think it does), to become certified in the use and application of NARCAN to reverse a drug overdose, and to encounter Jewish wisdom to inspire us as harm reduction ambassadors. Each participant can choose to receive a NARCAN kit upon completion of the training.
