Our darkest week and the spirit of Israel

The unspeakable horrors of the past week have elicited feelings of terror, anger, and sadness from Jews and their allies across our community and around the globe. CJP President and CEO, Rabbi Marc Baker, reflects on this painful moment in history, as well as the spirit of light, hope, and resilience that will carry us through these dark times.

Watch our community gathering on Boston Common

Monday’s community gathering, co-sponsored with Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Israeli American Council (IAC), and many other community organizations, brought more than 4,500 attendees to Boston Common. In a strong demonstration of allyship and support, we heard from Rabbi Marc Baker; Governor Maura Healey; Boston Mayor Michelle Wu; NAACP Boston President Tanisha Sullivan; and many others who said, unequivocally, that Boston stands with Israel and Boston stands against terrorism.

New hire at JCRC: combating antisemitism and anti-Zionism through education

In partnership with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC), CJP helped to create a new position at JCRC — Director of Educational Partnerships — to expand work in engaging with local school districts on issues of antisemitism and anti-Zionism. We are excited to announce that Dan Osborn, Ed.D., will be joining JCRC on Monday, October 23.
