CJP's Israel Emergency Fund

FAQs

Why has CJP started a special fundraising campaign in support of Israel?

This is an unprecedented moment in Jewish history. We are horrified at these brutal acts of terrorism, aggression, and destruction. CJP has committed to raising funds tirelessly to ensure that the people of Israel get the immediate resources they need.

How can I learn more about what’s happening in Israel?

You can visit the CJP Israel Under Attack webpage for up-to-date news, resources, community events, and more. You can also subscribe to CJP’s daily Israel News Roundup which compiles all the leading Israeli, U.S., and international news stories

How can I help?

Right now, the most impactful action we can take is to donate. CJP has opened our Israel Emergency Fund. Please give now. You can also mail a check to Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Kraft Family Building, Attn: Finance, 126 High Street, Boston, MA 02110. Please include “CJP emergency fund” in the memo line of the check.

Do 100% of the funds donated to the CJP Israel Emergency Fund go directly to those impacted in Israel?

Yes. 100% of your donation will go toward supporting victims of terror and addressing the unprecedented levels of trauma caused by these horrific attacks.

How much has been raised through the CJP Israel Emergency Fund and how much has been distributed?

Visit CJP’s Israel Emergency Fund: Where Your Support Goes on JewishBoston.com to see which organizations received funding, how much funding, and what these resources are supporting.

How are Fund distribution decisions being made?

CJP has created the Israel Emergency Fund Task Force made up of eight longtime CJP volunteers and board members being led by CJP’s Sarah Abramson, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Impact and Noam Bentov, Associate Vice President, Israel and Global Jewry. CJP will make grants at least in the following areas: Direct support for victims of terror and trauma response; hospitals, medical, and emergency response; infrastructure needed for safety during war; support for military personnel; and specific parts of the country most impacted (Southern Israel and Northern Israel) Read more at CJP’s Israel Emergency Fund: Where Your Support Goes.

Does this money go through the Israeli government in any way?

No. CJP does not make grants to foreign governments in accordance with U.S. law. We distribute funds to our long-standing non-profit partners who are doing humanitarian work in Israel and most equipped to evaluate the pressing needs on the ground.
